James D. Jameson
Mr. Jameson received a Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern University in 1978 and his J.D. from Marquette University School of Law in 1982. Following graduation from law school, Mr. Jameson was honored with an appointment as Law Clerk to Judge John L. Coffey, United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit in Chicago.
Mr. Jameson maintains a general business law and outside corporate general counsel practice and has extensive experience in matters of strategic business planning, expansion and development, including special emphasis in the areas of corporate and other entity creation, contracting, financing and governance, mergers, acquisitions, international and domestic joint ventures, securities, banking, insurance, real estate and other transactional and financial matters. Mr. Jameson also has broad litigation and administrative law experience in matters involving real estate, banking, securities, insurance and other consumer and business contractual and transactional matters.
Prior to joining Slater Kennon & Jameson, LLP in 2008, Mr. Jameson established the Law Office of James D. Jameson in Austin in 1994. Earlier in his career, Mr. Jameson served as Special Counsel to the Financial Division of the Texas Department of Insurance, Associate Counsel of a financial services subsidiary of American Express Company and Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of a small, publicly traded manufacturing company.
Mr. Jameson is a member of the State Bar of Texas and licensed to practice in Texas state and U.S. federal courts.
